Just a few important notes…
Our services are recreational or adaptive, not medical. We do not offer therapy by licensed physical, occupational, or mental health professionals, and we do not bill medical insurance. While interacting with horses can have physical and mental benefits, our programs are not treatment for any condition.
Spots in our Adaptive Horsemanship & Para-Dressage Programs are almost always full. New participants are accepted only when a current participant leaves. We place people by “best fit,” considering age, ability, volunteer support, horse and instructor availability. You may wait a long time for an opening.
Riding and working with horses carry risks. Falls can occur, often from four to six feet. Even well-trained horses can react instinctively and move quickly, which can be dangerous for someone who cannot respond appropriately.
Current weight limit for riding is 180 lbs. Lower limits apply for participants with balance issues or who need volunteer support while riding. Our Equicizer (mechanical horse) can accommodate participants up to 250lbs.
